 One of the best ways to personalize your Web presence, and make a name for yourself online (figuratively and literally), is to purchase a top level domain (TLD) name. Although having a personal space like www.infinitido.com/myfirstveryowndomain is nice, owning www.myfirstveryowndomain.com is much higher in the food chain of the Web animal kingdom. The good news is that it is relatively inexpensive and easy to do if you follow the step in this tutorial. On September 2nd, 2008 Google became further engraved in the annals of Web history by launching their take on the Web browser, Chrome.
In the Beginning There Was Text
Web browsers have come a long way since my first use. I started on a text browser named Lynx long ago in 1995. Imagine the Web you know today, except the only thing you can see is text. No colors, no pictures, and don't even think about streaming video. You basically had to have a great imagination to get anything close to a worthwhile experience comprable to what we have today. Then came Netscape Navigator.
Where Was Google: Considering Google started back in 1996, what we know today as Google search was probably not yet born. The ideas behind it were probably conceived and in early stages of development, but they would not see light until later in 1996.
